SEABROOK, Texas — The body of a man reported missing from the Houston area was found near the Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook late Wednesday night, police said.
The Memorial Village Police Department contacted the Seabrook Police Department about a man who hadn't returned home from a trip to the yacht club. His phone was still pinging in the vicinity of where his boat was located.
Seabrook officers searched the area and found the man's phone and other personal belongings on the dock beside his boat. The boat was empty and there was no sign of the man.
They called the Harris County Dive Team and a search was launched.
The dive team recovered the man's body from the water not far from his boat just before 11 p.m. He was later identified as the man who was reported missing and his family was notified. His name hasn't been released.
"While no foul play is suspected, the investigation remains ongoing pending the medical examiner's report," Seabrook police said.
