HOUSTON Let s face it. Not everyone has the tech-savvy or the time to sell their stuff on eBay. But everyone can drop it off at a store where someone else will sell it for you.
One such store is called the Drop it Off Store on Holly Hall near Reliant Park. When they sell your item, they will keep 30 percent, leaving you with 70 percent.
Items that sell well are electronics and small appliances, also computer equipment and exercise equipment. Manager Vikesh Amin recently sold a customer s coffee machine on eBay for $1000.
It was the Cadillac of coffee machines, Amin said.
But there are some things that will not sell well so the store won t accept them.
Clothes, we generally don t do, just a very difficult item. We do cowboy boots and they sell fantastic, Amin said. There s a big market for it.
It turns out eBay buyers around the world LOVE cowboy boots that come from Houston, Texas. After all, Houston is known for having the largest rodeo in North America.
Ebay sellers can track their items and sales on the famous web site. Once their item or items have sold the store will issue the proceeds from here. It s a check either mailed out to you or you have the option of picking it up, Amin said.
