Driver dies after suspected road rage shooting in east Harris Co.

The shooting happened in the Cloverleaf area Sunday.

HOUSTON — A driver has died after what the Harris County Sheriff's Office said was a possible case of road rage. 

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the shooting happened around 4 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Freeport and Muscatine streets in the Cloverleaf area.

Investigators said two people in two vehicles got into some type of argument and shots were fired. The driver of one vehicle -- identified as 21-year-old Angel Muniz-Acosta -- was hit. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. On Tuesday, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez posted to social media that he died.  A female passenger in his car wasn't injured.

At this point, we don't have word of any arrests or a description of the other vehicle.
