Richmond apartment complex fire destroys 20 units, displaces residents

At this point, we don't know how the fire at the complex in Richmond started. No injuries were reported.

RICHMOND, Texas — A massive fire burned an apartment complex in Richmond Thursday night.

Editor's note: The above video is from KHOU 11's coverage of the fire Thursday night.

This happened at a complex off Golfview Drive near FM 762 around 9 p.m.

The Richmond Police Department said the fire was contained to one building, but all 20 units in that building were destroyed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Red Cross was on the scene to help the 40 to 45 impacted residents with immediate needs.

Police said the cause of the fire is under investigation. 

The Richmond Fire Department received assistance from neighboring fire departments to put out the flames.
