LIBERTY COUNTY, Texas - People along the Trinity River are on high alert around the influx of water coming from north Texas.
County emergency officials have warned residents that if you live along the river or have livestock, you should start making plans to leave now.
"We anticipate that we will reach flood stage sometime probably this weekend," said Tom Branch, Liberty County Emergency Management Coordinator.
Officials are expecting to increase the amount of water sent downstream from Lake Livingston nearly six-fold, after it took on all the rain from the storms upstate.
Branch says he expects water to rise enough to get on roads, but the big wild card is how much more rain will fall.
