WASHINGTON - There will be more than a dozen world leaders attending the state funeral for former President George H.W. Bush on Wednesday.
On Monday, the flag-draped coffin of the nation’s 41st president arrived in Washington, where he was eulogized in the United State Capitol with members of his family, including George W. Bush, in attendance.
Bush will lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda through Wednesday morning.
The state funeral will begin at 10 a.m. and the casket will depart for Houston at 11:30 a.m.
Below is a list of the world leaders expected to attend the funeral in Washington:
- Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, His Majesty the King of Jordan and his wife, Rania Al-Abdullah, Her Majesty the Queen of Jordan
- Sir Peter Cosgrove, Governor General of Australia and his wife, Lady Lynne Cosgrove
- Andrzej Duda, the President of Poland
- Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany
- HRH Charles, the Prince of Wales
- Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Prince of Bahrain and Personal Representative of the King of Bahrain
- Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Former Emir of Qatar and father of the current Emir of Qatar
- Anibal Vaco Silva, Former President of Portugal
-Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Former President of Estonia
- Lech Walesa, former President of Poland
- Sir John Major, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom
- Dame Norma Major, spouse of the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom
- Nasser Alahmed Al-Sabah, Former Prime Minister, H.H. Sheikh of Kuwait
- Yasuo Fukuda, former Prime Minister of Japan
- John Swan, former Premier of Bermuda
- Carlos Salinas, former President of Mexico
- Former President Barack Obama and Former First Lady Michelle Obama
- Former President Bill Clinton and Former First Lady Hillary Clinton
- Former President Jimmy Carter and Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter
