Hundreds of Texas college students are getting a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
The Prairie View A&M University band will perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The band has been preparing for the past year for the national stage. So what sets the band apart from thousands of others? The Marching Storm says its athleticism, showmanship, music and dance moves make it special.
Prairie View A&M hopes to bring a special energy and funk to the Big Apple this week.
"I'm just excited, because I have never flown on a plane,” one student said. “There are so any people in the band that have never been anywhere. I've never been this far from Texas, period, and then to be on TV."
The Marching Storm is one of 10 bands across the country performing in Thursday’s parade.
