DICKINSON, Texas -- Nearly the entire city of Dickinson lost power after the Texas-New Mexico Power company reported an equipment failure at their substation on Monday.
According to the power company, about 12,000 homes and business were out in Dickinson and parts of Texas City and League City.
They said there was an equipment failure in a substation around 5 p.m.
Crews worked overnight to make repairs and move some customers to a working substation.
The power was reportedly fully restored at about 2 a.m.

A large part of the Dickinson Independent School District lost power, but the district says schools will be open Tuesday and buses will run as scheduled.
