Caught on camera: Driver goes ballistic during parking spot dispute

Ivan Sanchez said he's used the same parking space for the last three years without a problem. That all changed on Monday when he showed up to work.

HOUSTON — Ivan Sanchez said he was pulling up for work on Monday when a stranger pulled in front of his car.

"Never seen this man. I tried to de-escalate saying, my bad, dude," he said. "Comes in front of me and just starts yelling at me."

Sanchez said he was confused and then the man started yelling racial slurs at him.

"When he started threatening my life and my property, that's when I pulled out my phone," he said.

Sanchez said he got away from the man and recorded the rest of the encounter on video.

In the video, a man can be seen getting out of a white truck before walking over to Sanchez's car.

"This is where I felt like I was in danger, too, because is he running toward me or is he running toward the car?" he said.

Sanchez said he started yelling for security as the man tried to slash his tires.

He said it was all over a parking space -- a space Sanchez said he's used for the last three years. He said he showed up for work at the same building almost every day for the last three years and never had an issue until this week.

He said the man claimed Sanchez took his parking spot, which led to him getting aggressive.

"It's just so rare for someone to act so crazy all of a sudden," he said.

Sanchez said he filed a police report and wanted to press charges even though his tire only sustained a minor scratch and he's still able to drive on it.

He is still in disbelief that something so trivial turned into such an ordeal.

"With all this passion, lifted his hand and tried to stab it (the tire), flipped me off, gets back in his car and takes off. All for what? This just makes no sense," Sanchez said.
