"What better way to support National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month than with a community run that supports dads, sons, brothers, husbands, uncles, grandpas and friends. I hope you can join us for this special event as we hope to educate and inspire a new understanding of how we can all minimize the likelihood of a cancer diagnosis in our lifetime," said Gabe Canales, founder and president of The Blue Cure Foundation.

The race begins at Sam Houston Park and will make its way down Allen Parkway. As runners turn back towards downtown, City Hall will be illuminated blue in recognition of the month of September as National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Following the race, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy an after party complete with music, refreshments and a Zumba class presented by Life Time Fitness.

KHOU 11's Lily Jang will emcee the festivities.
