Two dead after crash involving truck, golf cart in Hockley

Officials said two people died. It is unknown if any others were injured.

HOCKLEY, Texas - Two people are dead after a truck crashed into a golf cart in Hockley Monday night.

The incident happened around 8:15 p.m. on New Year's Eve at FM 2920 and Kermier Road. Harris County Sheriff's deputies said a maroon Ford F-250 heading north in the 20200 block of Kermier Road struck the golf cart, killing two people.

Deputies said the golf cart failed to yield the right of way from a private driveway.

The two people in the golf cart, who were between the ages of 20 and 30 were both killed, deputies said. They were reportedly members of a church group who were visiting a home.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

At this point, we don't have word of any charges.
