RICHMOND, Texas – One man is dead after a crash Monday night in Fort Bend County.
Deputies arrived at the scene on Crabb River Road near FM 762 just after 7 p.m. Monday night. They say the man was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash.
Authorities say the man was driving his truck southbound on Crabb River Road when he veered off the road, overcorrected, lost control and went into a ditch where his truck overturned. Investigators say the man was carrying a lot of work tools – like air compressors – which became projectiles.
"The vehicle has construction materials inside, air compressors and so forth," said Sgt. John Moore with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office. "A lot of projectiles inside the vehicle, and he wound up dying from his injuries. It's a fatality accident. It's one vehicle, one occupant. Nobody else involved. We have no witnesses right now."
The crash investigation is ongoing at this time.
