HOUSTON — We have new details about a wild police chase in north Houston Friday. After the driver was arrested and the car was towed, police and a wrecker driver said they found a nude woman inside.
During the pursuit, Air 11 was able to capture the driver crashing through cars that were at an intersection and driving the wrong way at times. The car came to a stop near Ella and Kuykendahl and the suspect jumped out and ran into a nearby wooded area, but was soon taken into custody.
After the suspect was arrested, police asked a tow truck driver to get the car off the road so traffic could start moving again. The tow truck driver loaded the car the suspect was driving up and moved it across the street to a parking lot.
Police were going to search the vehicle, but said it was locked, so they asked the tow truck driver for help. As soon the tow truck driver was able to get the car unlocked, police said a woman who wasn't wearing any clothes and was under a blanket in the car jumped up, opened the door and ran off.
Police were able to find and question her. She is not facing any charges and was never in custody.
At this point, we still don't know the identity of the driver or what started the chase. Reporter Matt Dougherty is following this story for KHOU 11 News. Watch his report tonight at 10 p.m.
