Firefighters in Houston’s Fifth Ward had to restrain a man who was trying to go back into his burning home overnight.
The fire broke out shortly before midnight Thursday at a home that was converted into a duplex on Tralle at Orange.
Firefighters said heavy smoke and flames were coming from one side of the home. They quickly got the fire out, even as the resident was trying to go back in to save his possessions.
Firefighters said the other side of the duplex suffered some smoke damage but was not burned.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
