BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas – A family is safe after they woke up to find their house on fire in Brazoria County overnight.
According to the Brazoria Fire Department, crews were dispatched at 1:30 a.m. to a house fire at 821 County Road 99.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, crews found a single story home with heavy smoke and flames.
All occupants inside the home were able to make it out without injury. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
The house belongs to an elderly woman and is also home to some of her children and grandchildren.
The family was sleeping in the home when the fire broke out. They awoke to smoke filling the residence.
They quickly got everyone out, including an infant.
