CLEAR LAKE, Texas The Remax Ballunar Liftoff Festival at the NASA/Johnson Space Center will celebrate mankind s fascination with flight, from the earliest lighter-than-air vehicle (hot air balloon) to the technological marvels of modern space travel.
The thrill and excitement of aviation can be experienced first-hand through an extensive NASA Open House and Tour on Saturday, October 22.
The Ballunar Liftoff Festival takes place from 6 p.m. Friday, October 21 until 12 p.m. Sunday, October 23.
The Ballunar Liftoff will feature over 50 giant, seven-story tall balloons in navigational competition, daylong exhibitions of skydivers in formation, hang-gliders, powered parachutes, model rocket clubs, a Salute to Law Enforcement, and exotic flying machines of every description.
Celebrating its 50th anniversary, NASA will give a behind-the-scenes peek at the next generation of space exploration.
The wholesome outdoor family festival encourages young people s interest in math and science through the wonder of powered flight.
Family-friendly pricing of just $10 per carload (pack the neighbors kids into the van) includes free parking onsite and the NASA Open House, theKids Carnival, food, vendors, Dad s Beer Garden.
From Houston, travel south on I-45 towards Galveston and exit at NASA Road I; go east on NASA Rd I approximately six miles, and turn left onto Saturn Blvd to Johnson Space Center gate.
