HOUSTON — A motorcyclist is dead after a crash involving another vehicle on Texas 249, police confirm.
The crash happened just before 11 p.m. on the inbound lanes of the highway, shortly after law enforcement shut down traffic headed toward the city.
The freeway has since reopened.
A Houston TranStar camera showed foggy conditions in the area shortly after the deadly crash, but it’s unclear if weather had anything to do with the wreck.
Crash investigators are at the scene.
Witnesses told police the motorcyclist entered the freeway at a high rate of speed when he was struck by a four-door vehicle.
The motorcycle rider died at the scene. The driver of the other car stayed at the scene and showed no signs of intoxication.
