LAKE CONROE, Texas -- A husband and wife were killed in a boating crash on Lake Conroe.
According to Montgomery County officials the crash happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Dispatchers received a 911 call from a child who reported there had been a crash. Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies and firefighters arrived to find a 39-year-old Jason Clark of Magnolia on a bass boat who was in traumatic arrest. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Clark's wife was pulled from the water in critical condition. His 10-year-old daughter also suffered minor injuries.
Texas Parks and Wildlife confirmed 38-year-old Sara Maria Clark died on Friday afternoon from her injuries.
Investigators are calling the girl a "hero" after she called for help and used the light from her cell phone as a beacon to guide first responders to her family's boat.
Two other people were in the water from the other boat, but those men were not hurt.
Authorities believe the people in one of the boats were fishing when the other boat slammed into them. They don't believe alcohol was a factor.
