HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — The Harris County Sheriff's Office is asking for help locating a 23-year-old woman who was last seen last month in the Katy area.
Deputies said Amarillyz Amy Estevez, 23, was last seen on Aug. 13 when she was along North Piper Grove Drive in a neighborhood near Westfield Parkway Drive and Greenhouse Road.
Estevez is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs about 145 pounds. She was wearing a brown top and brown shorts.
Estevez has brown eyes and blond/brown hair. She has numerous tattoos on her arms and upper chest area.
Estevez's family is pleading for help.
Her mother, Nora Trevino, is speaking out because they still don't have answers.
"I'm waiting for you. I'm your mom," Trevino said.
The last day her daughter was seen, Trevino said she was going to sleep when Amarillyz stepped outside to talk to her boyfriend. She left her phone inside the family's home.
"My daughter was a little scared because they have been fighting and she didn't want to talk to him but he was still texting her and my daughter said, 'I don't want to see you because I'm afraid you're going to hit me again,'" Trevino said.
She said the boyfriend's mother told her that he hadn't been home since that day.
Trevino said that if Amarillyz didn't have her phone, she would usually update her from someone else's.
"She's a very independent girl but she's always calling me letting me know where she is," she said. "I just want my daughter back. Bring her home."
