Missing Bellville teen back home, family confirms to KHOU 11

A private investigator working with the family told KHOU 11 the girl had been found in Cypress.

BELLVILLE, Texas — A private investigator working with the family told KHOU 11's Matt Dougherty Sunday morning that a missing Bellville teen had been found in Cypress. The Bellville Police Department also posted on Facebook that she had been "reunited with family."

Before she was found, Geneva Hodge, 17, hadn't been seen since her mother found a note in her daughter's bedroom Wednesday morning.

Her mother, Francis Schrader, said she was worried something terrible happened to her daughter.

"She’s never done anything like this. She was a good kid. This was going to be her senior year. She was in color guard. She was going to be the captain of the color guard," Schrader said before the teen was found.

When Schrader went into her daughter’s bedroom on Wednesday morning, she wasn’t there. Instead, she found a note on her pillow.

She said the note made no sense. It read:

“This will be the last time that you’ll hear from me for a very long time and it says I love you mom, I’ll always be your little girl,” Schrader said.

Schrader, before the teen was found, said there hadn’t been any disagreements between them and her daughter didn’t have any romantic relationships.

“Everybody’s read this letter and they’re like, that’s not Geneva. That’s just not her," she said.

Schrader said her daughter left her cell phone in her bedroom, didn’t take any clothes and hadn’t used her debit card since she went missing.

Private investigator Colman Ryan said at the time he agreed that something was not right.

"She says and the closest people around her have said, that’s not her something’s wrong here. I agree. Who would know better," Ryan said.

Ryan worked with Schrader and was the first to tell KHOU 11 the teen had been found.
