AMBER Alert: Welfare check for missed prescription pickup prompts statewide search for missing 1-year-old

The baby was last seen wearing a navy-colored shirt and flower-print pants.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A statewide search for a missing 1-year-old is underway after a mother didn't pick up a prescription for her son's medical condition.

Authorities issued an AMBER Alert for Noah Mi'aani Jah-sae Johnson on Thursday after he hadn't been seen since Tuesday. Noah was last known to be with his mother, Kamilah Antoinette Johnson, 38.

Noah has a serious medical condition that could worsen if he doesn't get the medication he needs, investigators said. According to the Harris County Pct. 8 Constable's Office, Kamilah had taken Noah out of the hospital, saying she was going to seek holistic healthcare for his condition.

Noah's doctors asked CPS to do a welfare check after they found out Kamilah hadn't picked up his medication from a local pharmacy.

CPS had Pct. 8 deputies go to the family's apartment on Space Center Boulevard near Genoa Red Bluff Road, where the deputies discovered the two were gone.

"We have attempted to exercise the writ of attachment by going to the known last known address," deputies said. "The mother never answered the door. We received information from the complex that the mother had been seen loading her vehicle up with clothes and different things and her children and left the apartment complex, and as of yet, no one has been able to locate her."

Officials emphasized this is not a criminal investigation as of Friday morning. That could change if something happens to Noah while he's off his medication, according to authorities.

Noah and Kamilah were last seen around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. Noah was last seen wearing a navy-colored shirt and flower-print pants. Authorities said he is around 2 feet tall and 30 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Kamilah is 5 feet 4 inches and 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, officials said.

They are believed to be in a white 2007 GMC Yukon with Texas license plate STM7097. Investigators believe they may be in Missouri where they have family. Noah's grandmother said she hasn't heard anything from her daughter and grandson in several days.

If you have any information about Noah's whereabouts, you're asked to contact the Harris County Pct. 8 Constable's Office at 281-488-4040, option 1.
