A 12-year-old Houston girl was found safe after an AMBER Alert was issued on July 30. A man police say met at the Crystal Inn has been charged.

HOUSTON — Charges have been filed against a man arrested in Louisiana in connection with a Houston AMBER Alert involving a 12-year-old girl.

The girl was found safe on Tuesday afternoon and reunited with her family.

Ariel Anderson, 26, was arrested by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor

According to the girl's family, she took her mother's truck without permission early Monday and drove to the Crystal Inn & Suites near the Eastex Freeway/59 and Little York Road. They believe Anderson lured her to the motel.

Houston police said the 12-year-old met Anderson at the motel and they checked into a room before leaving about an hour later.

In the statewide AMBER Alert issued Tuesday morning, police said the girl was with Anderson and believed to be in "grave or immediate danger."

After the girl was found safe, a spokesperson for the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office told KHOU 11 that they were speaking with a "person of interest" in the case.

Records show Anderson was later arrested and charged.

It's not clear yet if he will face additional charges in Houston.
