HOUSTON — A Houston family is worried for their missing loved one after she hasn't been seen in days.
Relatives are searching for 22-year-old Angela Marisol Diaz, who was last seen at 4:40 a.m. Monday near the Moonlight Inn & Suites on the Gulf Freeway. She was wearing a red dress.
Family members said they've been getting conflicting information about Diaz's last known location. Although she was last seen near the hotel, her cellphone pinged to an area in a different part of town.
It’s been difficult for the Diaz family.
“I know it’s the Fourth of July and people are partying or with their families, but we are missing our family,” Angela’s mother, Yesenia Diaz, told KHOU 11 News.
Family members said they last spoke to Angela on Sunday and said it didn’t seem like anything was wrong.
“She never goes one day without calling us,” Angela’s father, Edward Diaz, said.
According to family members, Angela's boyfriend last saw her on Monday at the Moonlight Inn & Suites. He told her family members that Diaz was going to meet another man. Diaz’s family tracked that person down.
“When (I) called, I asked about my daughter. He said, at first, he didn’t know her, then said, 'Yes, I dropped her off at Telephone Road.' I told him, ‘Well, at 4 o’clock in the morning, her phone says she’s not on Telephone.' He just cussed at me and hung up the phone,” Edward Diaz said.
Angela’s phone was pinged to a strip center on the East Freeway near Federal Road. Flyers have since been posted in the area. The family filed a report with the Houston Police Department.
“Please help us look for her and for the cops and for everybody to please come look,” Yesenia Diaz said.
Anyone with information about Angela's whereabouts is asked to call HPD.
