'Pretty scary setback' | Mary Lou Retton remains in ICU, daughter says

More than $450,000 has been donated to the Spotfund account for the gold-medal-winning gymnast.

Mary Lou Retton remains in the ICU after being hospitalized around two weeks ago for a rare form of pneumonia, according to her family.

On Wednesday, her daughter Shayla shared an update on her condition via Instagram saying her mother "had a pretty scary setback" after being on the up and up earlier in the week. She didn't share details of the setback.

"She had a better day [Wednesday}, which is great, just really, really exhausted," Shayla said in her post.
