TOWN OF TONAWANDA, NY-- A Buffalo man has died after he was crushed by a pallet holding 1,300 pounds of merchandise.
Town of Tonawanda Police say they were called to FedEx Freight on Military Road just after 7am Wednesday.
They say one of the employees, Earl W. Reese, 57, was working inside a truck when a pallet with 1,300 pounds of merchandise tipped over and pinned him.
Several employees tried to remove the pallet, but were unable to lift it. A fork lift was used to lift the pallet off Reese.
Paramedics were unable to revive Reese and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the incident appears to be an accident. OSHA has been notified.
