HOUSTON -- A Kingwood youth who authorities say dug up the remains of an 11-year-old boy and used the skull as a marijuana " bong" pleaded guilty to abuse of a corpse on Monday.
, 17, was sentenced to eight months in county jail for the misdemeanor crime, the Houston Chronicle reported in its online edition.
Matthew Richard Gonzalez, 17, of Kingwood, and a juvenile whose name has not been released have also been charged with abuse of a corpse.
Jones told police in May that he and his friends dug up a grave, removed the skull from a coffin and converted it into a "bong," a device used to smoke marijuana, according to court documents.
The corpse was that of an 11-year-old boy who died in 1921, according to the Chronicle. Court documents showed the grave belonged to a Willie Simms.
Houston police learned about the grave theft while interviewing Jones about the use of a stolen debit card, according to court documents.
