Katy ISD police apologize for offensive Facebook post

The now-deleted post read, "Don't forget it's National School Bus Safety Week!" with a picture of people who appear to be of Indian descent hanging on the bus.

KATY, Texas - The Katy ISD Police Department has removed a Facebook post many viewed as offensive.

The now-deleted post read, “Don’t forget it’s National School Bus Safety Week!” with a picture of people who appear to be of Indian descent hanging on the bus.

One man said Katy is a diverse area, and the post is downright offensive.

The police department later posted an apology saying, “Our last post was not meant to humiliate or offend anyone, it was intended as a reminder of the importance of school bus safety during National School Bus Safety Week. The post was deleted and again we apologize if it offended anyone."
