KATY, Texas – The Katy Independent School District broke ground on its $61 million football stadium on Friday.
The site for the new complex is located on Franz Road next to Rhodes Stadium. Building it became controversial after voters initially rejected a $69 million stadium back in 2013.
It's gonna seat 12,000 people. It's slated to open in time for the 2017 football season.
