KATY, Texas — A toddler drowned in a private pool in Katy on Saturday, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
It happened on Brackenfern Road in the Mayde Creek area.
Gonzalez said there was a family gathering and the little boy apparently found an opening in a fence to access the neighbor's pool.
He was unresponsive when he was pulled from the water.
The child was rushed to a hospital by ambulance in critical condition, Gonzalez said, but he didn't survive.
