FORT BEND COUNTY – The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office shut down an illegal gambling operation in the Richmond area.
After a long investigation, deputies raided the Game Room on the 2000 block of U.S. 90A East around 10 p.m. on Dec. 6.
Deputies found ledgers, receipt books, membership cards and "other items usually associated with illegal gambling operations," officials said.
About 30 customers were interviewed and released, according to officials. One person was arrested and charged with gambling promotion.
Officials said information is being gathered to be presented to the district attorney's office and the sheriff's office and state comptroller's office are continuing to look over evidence.
