HOUSTON — Houston is being recognized as a top travel destination, not just in the country, but in the world.
The New York Times and Bloomberg named the Space City as a top place to visit in 2019.
Houston’s past and future factor into why.
Both lists mention NASA. The big draw is the Johnson Space Center is restoring the original mission control for the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. It is expected to look exactly as it did in 1969.
Both also mention our food scenes, specifically food halls. The trendy eateries have been opening left and right all over town.
Museum lovers, Houston’s the place for you, too. The Menil Collection, Holocaust Museum and Museum of Fine Arts have all announced major renovations. The national newspapers note Houston’s museums will be better than ever this year.
Finally, out-of-towners need a place to stay. The New York Times mentioned the five-diamond Post Oak Hotel, which just opened last year.
