2 arrested weeks after driver who was shot in head hit several light poles in southwest Houston

According to Houston police, the driver got into an argument with another man that led to gunfire on New Year's Eve.

HOUSTON — Two arrests were made after a man was shot in his head in southwest Houston on New Year’s Eve, police said.

The shooting happened on Clarewood near Fountain View. According to the Houston Police Department, the 20-year-old victim, whose identity has not been released, was in his car when he came across another man he knew. They got into some type of argument, and police said the suspect shot at the 20-year-old in the car multiple times, hitting him once in the head.

The man who was shot drove off and hit several light poles. Paramedics took him to a hospital, where he died two days later.

Robert Miguel Pena, 24, and Eduardo Alvarez, 21, were arrested Thursday and charged with murder.

They were taken to the Harris County Jail.
