HPD: Road rage suspect fired seven shots through victim's windshield

According to police, the driver was hit in the arm and suffered injuries that are not life-threatening.

HOUSTON — A man is lucky to be alive after someone shot through his windshield multiple times in what Houston police said was a case of road rage.

It happened along Old Spanish Trail and 288 around 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Metro police said one of their officers saw the whole thing.

After tempers flared for reasons unknown, police said the driver of a Mercedes got out and fired around seven shots into a Kia sedan. Only one bullet struck the Kia driver, hitting him in the shoulder. He suffered injuries that aren’t considered life-threatening. That driver, Ladarian Ray Glenn, 32, was able to drive away and call for help.

The Metro officer who witnessed the shooting located the crashed Mercedes on Bellfort near 288 but the driver ran off on foot. They're still looking for him.

Passenger Christopher Nelson Walker, 25, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor evading arrest but police said he's not the shooter.

Police recovered a rifle and another weapon from the Mercedes and also found casings at the shooting scene.

HPD said this another reminder that it's not worth the risk to let things get heated when behind the wheel.

"It started off over road rage," HPD Lt. J.A. Salazar said. "Please disregard anybody in this day and time who starts any road rage."
