New details on where a family that went missing after moving from New Orleans to Houston may be

A copy of a Greyhound bus ticket obtained by KHOU 11 News lists Steysi, Ramon and Jazzly as travelers. The ticket has Monterrey, Mexico as their final destination.

HOUSTON — A copy of a bus ticket belonging to a Honduran family that went missing after they boarded a Greyhound bus from New Orleans to Houston indicates they were possibly headed to Mexico.

Family members said Steysi Yanira David-Funez, 27, Ramon Ruiz Crisanto, 31, Jazzlyn Esther Ruiz-David, 4, and Dara Ismeray Ruiz-David, 1, were moving to Houston from New Orleans in pursuit of their American dream.

The family was expected to head to a Greyhound station on Houston’s East End late last year. Relatives said Steysi texted her father, "Daddy, I'm here," after arriving at the station on Harrisburg Boulevard, but they never made it to their next destination.

Editor's note: The above video originally aired on Feb. 7.

A copy of a Greyhound bus ticket obtained by KHOU 11 News lists Steysi, Ramon and Jazzly as travelers. This ticket states the family would depart from the Houston Greyhound station at 11:35 p.m. on Nov. 30, 2023 and head toward McAllen, arriving at 5:40 a.m. on Dec. 1, 2023.

From McAllen, the ticket states the family would be arriving at a Greyhound bus station in Monterrey, Mexico at 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 1, 2023.

Relatives don't believe the family crossed the border because they had already lived in Mexico prior to moving to the US for work.

With a translator, KHOU 11 News spoke with Dilcia Miranda, who is worried about her missing granddaughter and their family. Miranda said the family was going to get something to eat after arriving in Houston. The plan was to meet Ramon’s uncle, but they never showed up.

Steysi's sister in Honduras said Steisy is a very family-oriented person, and that they stayed in touch every day since moving to the United States last year.

Miranda said Ramon worked as a barber.

Miranda said they contacted Steysi's cellphone company, Metro PCS. The company said the last time phones were used was on Dec. 1. The phones were then cut off on Dec. 15.

According to the family, the Honduras Consulate of Houston is involved in the investigation. KHOU 11 News has tried reaching them for comment. We’ve also reached out to Greyhound and are waiting to hear back.

The disappearance was reported to New Orleans Police. Anyone with information about the missing family is asked to call detectives at 504-658-6060.
