HOUSTON — The Houston Police Department's Comida/Food Drive is back for its 39th year.
On Monday, Houston Police Chief Noe Diaz announced it will be held on Saturday, Dec. 21.
HPD said it was partnering with Kroger to provide 400 meals.
"Our goal is to continue to increase this absolutely wonderful program, this wonderful time of the year to celebrate the generosity that this community offers, to celebrate how lucky we are in all that we have to make sure that we are being good people," Diaz said.
Each year, the food drive helps hundreds of families with a holiday meal. Each holiday meal contains Kroger brand Frozen Turkey (10-14 pounds), stuffing, green beans, corn, gravy, cranberry, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese.
