HOUSTON — One person is dead and two others were flown to a hospital in critical condition after a car crashed into a utility pole on North Eldridge Parkway Sunday morning, officials said.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the crash split a utility pole in half. The northbound lanes of the parkway will be closed while repairs are made. Southbound lanes are expected to reopen by 10 a.m., according to the sheriff.
A spokesperson for the Harris County Pct. 5 Constable's Office said one person died at the scene and two others were flown to an area hospital.
