HOUSTON — A local family heading to Kemah for a birthday celebration wasn't expecting to see what they saw on the way there last weekend.
On Sunday, the family was driving on the East Freeway when they saw a man pointing a pistol out of the window and firing shots.
The incident was caught on dashcam video.
The driver said he was with his wife and kids when the Dodge Charger drove alongside them in the left lane.
A truck came up from behind them and that's when the gun came out of the passenger side of the Charger.
The viewer said the passenger in the Charger pointed the gun back into traffic and fired it into the air over other cars.
Houston police said they need a police report before they investigate the incident.
The viewer who captured what happened said he wants other drivers to be aware of the dangers on Houston roads.
