HOUSTON — Two bodies were recovered from Houston bayous on Tuesday, according to police.
The Houston Police Department posted to X about both discoveries within 35 minutes.
First, at about 1:40 p.m., HPD said they responded to reports of a body in Brays Bayou at Lawndale Street around 10:35 a.m. A pedestrian on the greenway spotted the body on the opposite bank of the bayou and flagged down an off-duty HPD officer, who called it in.
They said the dive team recovered a man's body but no other information was provided and circumstances surrounding the man's death are unknown. His cause of death is being investigated by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Then, just after 2:15 p.m., HPD posted to X saying another body was found, this time in White Oak Bayou.
They said homicide detectives showed up to North Main Street after getting reports of a woman's body in the bayou near downtown around 11:10 a.m.
Officials said the dive team recovered the body but no other information was provided.
Anyone with information on either case is asked to call HPD at 713-308-3600.
