HOUSTON - Two students were reportedly injured in an incident involving an HISD bus just east of downtown early Monday.
A spokesman for the school district says the bus was transporting students to a field trip when the crash happened on Saint Emanuel at Franklin.
The extent of the injuries involved was not immediately known, but the students were transported to Texas Children's Hospital.
HISD released the following statement:
Two students from Sherman Elementary School were transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure after their school bus was involved in a minor accident Monday near St. Emanuel Street and Franklin Street. HISD police officers and transportation officials immediately reported to the scene. HISD immediately notified all parents of those students involved. The accident is under investigation by HISD Police.
