University of Houston student robbed at gunpoint inside dorm, say police

According to UHPD, the student had gone to the restroom early Tuesday morning and when he returned, he was held at gunpoint by two men in his room.

HOUSTON — A University of Houston student was robbed at gunpoint inside his dorm on campus, according to police.

It happened at around 4 a.m. Tuesday morning at Moody Tower. According to University of Houston police, a student left his room to go to the restroom. When he came back, he said he noticed two men rummaging through his room.

The suspects held the student at gunpoint. The student reportedly fell to the floor and his phone fell out of his pocket. Police said one suspect grabbed his phone and ran down stairwell D.

The suspects were last seen near the northwest emergency door of the dorm, but haven’t been seen since.

The student wasn’t injured. It’s not clear how the men got inside.
