HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A person was shot to death Monday in the Channelview area, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
Gonzalez said the person was found dead after deputies responded to reports of a shooting on Sheldon Road just north of I-10.
An investigator at the scene said they got the call just before noon. He said the shooting happened at a homeless encampment behind a convenience store.
Investigators said they think the victim is a man in his 40s. He had been shot at least one time and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to authorities, the victim and the woman who shot him knew each other and the shot was fired during an argument. They think it was possibly an argument over property.
Investigators also said the woman who shot the man was cooperating and there were several witnesses.
