HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — An off-duty Harris County Sheriff's Office deputy was critically injured in a crash on Thursday, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
The deputy crashed while he was taking part in a motorcycle escort out of the county.
He was taken to Memorial Herman Hospital in critical condition, Gonzalez said. Once the injured deputy made it to the hospital he was alert and Gonzalez said his prognosis was better than it was initially believed.
It's unclear where the crash happened and what led up to it.
