Suspects in custody after crashing into Spring-area house at end of chase, Pct. 4 says

Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman's Office said the suspects were arrested after crashing into a house on Purple Wisteria Lane.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Two suspects were taken into custody Tuesday after a brief foot pursuit after a chase ended in a crash in north Harris County.

Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman's Office said constable deputies were chasing a vehicle that refused to stop along Cypresswood Drive.

Authorities said the vehicle lost control and crashed into a vacant house on Purple Wisteria Lane in a neighborhood off Cypresswood Drive near Treaschwig Road.

From the scene, it appeared as if the car was speeding down the street when it lost control and went over a curb. It ended up barreling into the front porch of the home, causing some structural damage.

Investigators said two teens stole a Kia Soul. Part of the chase was caught on a neighbor's surveillance camera. In the video, the car can be seen turning onto the street seconds before the driver lost control and crashed.

"I heard the noise here. They were jumping the fence. ... They jumped in the backyard and I heard the noise," one neighbor said.

Other neighbors said they, too, saw the suspects running through their yards.

Neighborhood residents said it's not the first time something like that happened. They said something similar happened last November and they're hoping the cleanup process will be faster this time around.
