HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Harris County Sheriff's Office investigators are looking for two males who got away after shooting two people at a north Harris County apartment complex Tuesday night.
An off-duty officer working security at the Chartwell Court apartments on Ella Boulevard found one man shot to death on a sidewalk as she made rounds around 9:30 p.m.
HCSO said surveillance video showed the gunmen fired at another victim.
"He was shot at, as well, as he was running away. We have a blood trail leading to an apartment over here," HCSO Sgt. B. Beall said.
That man survived and was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle. He's being questioned to learn more about the suspects and a possible motive.
Both victims are believed to be in their mid-to-late 20s.
Investigators found several shell casings and a pistol near the victim's body.
They said the two suspects escaped in a dark-colored vehicle.
