A man has been missing nearly a year and now a suspect in a Missouri City woman's death has been named a person of interest in his case

Family members said Destin Henderson was friends with Davante Clark, who was charged with capital murder in connection with the death of Karen Miles.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — The man accused of killing 61-year-old Karen Miles is now named as a person of interest in another case.

This time around, Davante Clark, 28, is believed to be linked to the disappearance of Destin Henderson, 39.

Henderson has been missing for nearly a year. His family said they didn't think detectives were doing enough until Clark, who was friends with Henderson, was arrested in connection with Miles' death.

This week, investigators and members of Texas EquuSearch have been looking for signs of Henderson in empty fields in Harris County.

Henderson vanished in October 2023. His family, which lives in California, said they came down to look for him days after he stopped calling them.

"His car and his phone were missing," Le Annessa Scipio, Henderson's sister, said. "My mom and my sisters and I, after not hearing from Destin for a whole day, we started to call the sheriff’s department."

They said they even reached out to Clark, who told them he hadn't seen Henderson. Family members were shocked to learn Clark was arrested for Miles' death.

"That gave me confirmation that my brother was no longer here," Scipio said.

Detectives with the Missouri City Police Department are helping the Harris County Sheriff's Office with Henderson's case. They're also out helping Texas EquuSearch.
