A Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constable was injured in a three-car crash Sunday afternoon in northwest Harris County.

An airbag could been seen through the windshield and the entire front of the patrol car was destroyed.

The Harris County Precinct 4 Office said the deputy constable crashed into the back of a car while traveling westbound on the 5500 block of FM 1960.

That car slammed into another vehicle, but it didn't stop there.

Investigators said while the deputy constable tried to avoid other cars, he rear-ended one more.

"Our deputy took evasive action striking a third vehicle, which was in the center lane, sending that vehicle in the ditch also," said Lt. Muniz.

For several hours, part of FM 1960 was shut down. Luckily no one was injured.

The deputy constable is new to the force and was treated at Houston Northwest Medical Center with minor injuries, officials said.
