HOUSTON — Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo on Thursday shared a message of resiliency during her State of the County address.
Hidalgo talked about Harris County's recovery from the pandemic as well as recent disasters, including the May derecho and Hurricane Beryl.
She heralded the billions of dollars secured for flood recovery and the $2.5 billion bond that will be on the November ballot -- month she said will be used to maintain flood control improvements.
She also talked about her struggles with mental health.
"If you see somebody struggling, encourage them to seek help, encourage them to see a professional and just remember it's something that we don't talk about enough," Hidalgo said.
