GALVESTON COUNTY -- The Galveston County Commissioners Court approved to close Rollover Pass.
The court voted to use eminent domain to acquire 16 acres surrounding the strip of water that connects the Gulf of Mexico and Galveston Bay.
Officials said they plan to fill in the pass and build a fishing pier and public park.
There's no word when construction will begin.
