HOUSTON — Pay for pray? That’s a scam that the real Lakewood Church is warning about.
According to Lakewood Church’s Facebook page, there’s a fake post going around social media asking people to activate their prayer request account by making a monthly donation of $24.99, which would give you 3 prayer requests per month.
The post is from an account that has Joel Osteen’s photo on it and says ‘Joel Osteen Ministries’
According to Lakewood Church, the post is a fake and that Joel Osteen Ministries never asks for money for prayers. They say if you have prayer requests, you can submit them here.
