TOMBALL, Texas — Last week, we introduced you to Bryan Peterson, a Tomball man trying to help a woman who rescued him during the May derecho storm.
As the storm was moving through on May 16, Peterson’s SUV was crushed by a falling tree, trapping him inside. It happened as he was stopped at a light.
Veronica Marin was driving by with her three kids and jumped into action. She told KHOU 11’s Troy Kless that she rushed to help, thinking he may have kids in his vehicle, too.
There weren’t kids inside, but Peterson was stuck in the crushed SUV. Marin unbuckled his seatbelt and helped get him out to safety.
Peterson later learned the single mother of three who saved him needed help herself after the storm caused severe damage to her home.
Peterson started a GoFundMe to help Marin and you sure showed up in a major way.
After we aired the story, the GoFundMe raised nearly $60,000 and some of you even volunteered to help Veronica fix her home.
